Frequently Asked Questions about Hormone Therapy
To get started with HRT, simply contact us by filling out the form or calling (704) 847-0011. Then, book your initial appointment, which includes lab work and a consultation with one of our providers.
The timing of results from Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) varies for each patient. Some may notice immediate changes, while others take longer. The onset of results depends on several factors, including the severity and type of symptoms being treated, individual differences, and your age.
Yes, additional blood tests are required throughout your treatment. Before each appointment, you’ll have lab tests done to monitor your progress. Your first appointment will involve a more comprehensive panel, followed by lighter panels in subsequent visits. Once a year, you’ll undergo a full panel to ensure all aspects of your health are tracked effectively.
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) uses hormones that have the same molecular structure as those naturally produced by your body. Unlike synthetic hormones, bioidentical hormones closely mimic your body’s own hormones. This similarity helps reduce the risk of side effects and ensures a more natural response, as your body is more accustomed to these compounds.
Hormone Replacement Therapy is typically not covered by insurance, as it is considered elective. However, it may be eligible for reimbursement through a flexible spending account (FSA) or a health savings account (HSA).
At Revita Medical, we offer a holistic approach to hormone replacement therapy, focusing on treating the whole person, not just their symptoms. New patients typically see their provider every 6-8 weeks at the start of their treatment. As your health stabilizes and your hormone levels become optimized, these appointments will gradually be spaced out. The goal is for patients to see their provider every 6 months once they reach a medically optimal state, where they feel good and their medication doesn’t require frequent adjustments.
