Depression
Description
Depression is defined as sadness that doesn’t go away and/or is pervasive. There is also a feeling of being unable to cope and some patients feel overwhelmed by everyday life.
What Patients Report
Patients say that they suffer from intense sadness, as well as feelings of hopeless, helplessness, and worthlessness lasting for many days, weeks, or even longer; being moody and irritable; often coupled with insomnia, fatigue, and changes in appetite.
What Primary Doctors Say
Traditional medicine usually recommends treatment with drugs such as Paxil, Prozac, or Zoloft, all of which have negative side effects. Other treatments include psychotherapy, electric shock therapy, and brain stimulation treatments such as vagus nerve stimulation.
How BHRT Affects
Hormones control our overall physical and mental health. Hormones increase our ability to cope gracefully with the stressors that challenge us every day. Restoring our youthful zeal and energy strengthens both mind and body and reduces or eliminates feelings of sadness.
